I'm in the middle of The Terminal Man by Michael Chrichton.
Meanwhile I finished books about the two criminals who killed three women and burned down the house in Connecticut a few years ago, and one about a murder suicide in New Orleans after Katrina, the War of 1812 on Lake Champlain, the WWII war crimes trial in the Ukraine, the Hartford Barnum & Bailey, Ringling Bros circus fire (very good book), and a really interesting book about crimes through history that were overshadowed by other headlines and all but forgotten by time.
That last book Psycho USA is one I will probably reference sometime for my Bottom Feeders thread.

Forgot to mention I just finished It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken: A Picture Novella by Seth. It's definitely a good read for introverts.

Right now I am listening to America Bewitched: The Story of Witchcraft After Salem by Owen Davies.
I previously listened to a book about the Johnstown Flood. That was a good one. And I listened to The Picture of Dorian Grey
Still waiting in the wings I have Shogun to listen to.

Two more weeks, Deexan. Have you pre-ordered it, or are you going to pick it up?

I'm going to go in and pick it up. More fun than ordering. You're going to read it a lot faster than me, by the way.

Wild guess...three bodies? Recently I have been listening and reading horror stories. I don't know but I have found most to be somewhat of a letdown - not creepy or scary enough for me. So if anyone has any good suggestions, I'd like to know what you all think are some good ones, thanks. ±±+±±±±±± Rght now I'm into Ghost Story by Peter Straub, and so far that's a great book. Woman in Black by Susan Hill is a bit too stodgy for my taste Turn of the Screw by Henry James was alright I'll have to give The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson another chance I guess, but that terrible movie remake has probably soured me on it. I'll have to give Clive Barker's Books of Blood another try too. Also Hell House by Richard Matheson Other good books Witch Hunt: Mysteries of the Salem Witch Trials by Marc Aronson is a great book that puts the trials into 16th century Puritan perspective. Wicked Takes the Witness Stand: A Tale of Murder and Twisted Deceit in Northern Michigan by Mardi Link has to be one of the most entertaining and unusual true crime cases I have ever read.

What ISN'T it about? I was going to try and summarize it myself, but that sounds really tough... So here is Amazon's brief and excluding summary: "Set against the backdrop of China's Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion. The result is a science fiction masterpiece of enormous scope and vision."

Oh I forgot I'm also reading The Sentinel by Jeffrey Konvitz on Kindle and it's really good so far.
I picked up The Rats by James Herbert too. That's next on Kindle and if I like it I'll pick up the other two Lair and Domain to complete the trilogy

If the answer is yes, I'll leave you with this: This is the only book that has engaged me as much as Tolkien's Legendarium, and believe me, I've been in search of a mythology worthy of JRRT's for my entire adult life. I finally found it with this. Trust me on this one. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
