Fake fan, indeed. I prefer to think of myself as a true hater. Tell that to the majority of your Letterboxd scores for the movies.

True. It's more a hatred of the fandom rather than the films within it. I'm almost afraid to ask, but...in what way? There's a certain subset of hardcore Potter fans that are deeply annoying. My first real exposure to this part of the fandom was the midnight screening of Deathly Hallows Part Two which was just wall-to-wall screaming. It's also that side of the fandom which cannot interpret any real life event or politics or history without filtering it through the prism of Harry Potter. Even ignoring that I'd argue the socio-politics of the series are really quite limited... god damn read another book. Not everything is best understood with references to muggles. I also won't deny that Rowling's increasingly unignorable transphobia and flat-out obsession with trans people coliurs this further, and there's a certain style of "fan" whose expressions of support are really just a means of endorsing a transphobe they agree with. This isn't really the fandom as I suspect a lot of these people don't actually care about Harry Potter they just share Rowling's transphobia but it does affect the broader fandom, or at least my perceptions of it. Hopefully this goes without saying but I would not consider you anywhere near this style of fan. In simplest terms, you love Harry Potter but you're not annoying about it.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, I'm really at the point where I still love the world and characters Rowling created here and occasionally still think about it in one form or another, and am appreciative to her for creating it in the first place, but it's not anything like a religion for me, nor can I really endorse Rowling herself beyond this whole franchise at this point. So, I definitely get that. I still love the series, obviously, but keep certain things in perspective, people.

The Simpsons It’s Best Animated Program, meaning, it’s individual episodes getting nominated and not the whole series. I guess voters don’t want to watch a bunch of cartoons. The Simpsons do 24 episodes every year. At least one gotta be good.

Lexington and Cincinnati are... interesting choices.
Watching the Hollywood elites munch down skyline chili in the nasty nati while discussing the latest foreign film trends would be a sight.

I checked if Doomsday won an Emmy this year. Fucker didn’t win shit. But Conan O’Brien won an Emmy, so that’s good news at least.

More evidence that 'Best Visual Effects' is another term for 'Most Popular.'

Sure seems like they're letting a lot of senior citizens perform on the VMAs these days, might say something about the demographics of the people still watching cable channels in 2024.

Pretty much. They've kind of outgrown what was a tiny ski resort town.
