Of all superhero movies this year, I honestly thought The Flash was the worst. It gets worse and worse the more I think about it. Michael Keaton and the cougar from Y Tu Mama Tambien sorta rescue that movie. Do they, though...?
You've still got plenty of other dumb shit like all of Ezra Miller's performance as Teenage Barry and the awful effects, scenes like the baby shower, etc.

Baby Shower is the best part of the movie.

Ezra's dual role acting was one of the most successful things about that movie IMO.

I've seen 4 of them. 5 if you count the 20 minutes before I shut off Ghosted Which of them would you watch again if you were forced to? Fast X. Jason Mamoa is going for something. It's weird and fabulous.

Here I was, thinking I might have actually watched all of the potential Best Picture nominees before the nominations got announced for the first time ever. And then The Zone of Interest comes along.

Well, after having moved heaven and earth to get into a preview screening of ZOI I managed to pull it off. In fact the only feature length nominees in any categories that I haven't seen are Golda, Flamin' Hot, Io Capitano, Perfect Days, Robot Dreams, and To Kill a Tiger. Four of those six aren't out anywhere so getting them all watched will probably be an ordeal.

Zone of Interest really isn't anywhere close enough to me right now. Obviously, that'll most likely change in the coming weeks, but even then...I don't know if my desire to see it is that strong at the moment.

I have to see Zone, American Fiction and I’ll be complete. Think they are now both playing near me.
Weird acting noms this year. They really went with America Ferrara for Barbie, but snub Margot, and more importantly, Penelope Cruz in Ferrari.

America Ferrera? What the fuck? Can they stop nominating John Williams? 1godzillafanAnother boy’s club. Take that, SnoBorderZero. These idiots could’ve had Dua Lipa perform at the Oscars. Enjoy your ratings.

Do we think Nolan could win both pic and director? And if not director who wins in his place?

Do we think Nolan could win both pic and director? And if not director who wins in his place? I think he's the frontrunner in both. Scorsese could challenge him in Director, especially as a legacy pick, and Yorgos is the dark horse. Could also see The Holdovers being a surprise Best Picture winner. It's editing nom is a big deal and it's also probably the most easily recommendable and agreeable of the nominees.

I agree. I think it's Nolan's year, for both directing and Best Picture. What I'm more curious about is the Best Actor race. Is Cillian going to get it, or does Giamatti's recent momentum translate to a win for him?
And by the way, I'm very happy to see Justine Triet get a Director nod.

Yeah I think the Dua Lipa song deserves to be in over the Billie Eilish one, which is probably going to win.

Do we think Nolan could win both pic and director? And if not director who wins in his place? I think he's the frontrunner in both. Scorsese could challenge him in Director, especially as a legacy pick. Bro, Scorsese’s “legacy Oscar” was in 2006. We just didn’t think he’d still be alive. I'm more curious about the Best Actor race. Is Cillian going to get it, or does Giamatti's recent momentum translate to a win for him? Has Giamatti beaten Murphy in the same category? It seems like they’ve been splitting the drama & comedy categories. This could be another Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmaye situation.
