I didn't realize the joe Russo does the music for this. No wonder its always so incredibly perfect for the scenes.
Hawley can make anything and I'll watch. Legion tested my patience but still worth it to a degree.

I agreed with AV Club, for once, who said the first two episodes seemed to try to rely a little too much on the "Fargo charm," and hadn't really given us much in the way of compelling story or characters.
Episode 3, however, was absolutely incredible. The story takes a complete departure from Fargo and is, essentially, a one-off episode that you could actually watch without much continuity from the rest of the show/season. It's a nice story of trying to find your way and find love in Hollywood only to get eaten alive by it. It was well-done television, and it had me regretting us going back to the main story.
As for the main story, it's pretty obvious how things are going to play out - the cops already told us at the end that an air conditioner falling on someone in the middle of winter seems shady, so it's only a matter of time now before they link Mary Elizabeth Winstead to Ewan McGregor, and make the connection that the house of the dead author is the same address as Ewan's brother, just in a different town.
It's a real bummer - this season just doesn't have the depth and characterization I loved so much about the first two, and the third episode almost qualifies enough as a standalong that it is almost guaranteed the story won't ever reach that peak again. It's like sitting in Economy Class in a flight, and the window opens long enough to see into First Class for a bit.

I thought the season ended up being pretty remarkable and ended well. Carrie Coon did a superb job, Ewan McGregor really opened up. The first couple of episodes were a disservice to the entire season, but once that 3rd episode came and went, it went well. I'm gonna miss Mary Elizabeth Winstead being on a show I'm watching.

Chris rock sucks at acting, and schwartzman is coming in with a similar energy to bored to deaths later seasons. Disappointing begining.
Hopefully it gets better. Even the music is pretty shit so far.

I didn't watch it (need to watch season 3 first) but I read in a review that they really go hard with the 'quirky character' thing even more than they normally do. I'm fine with quirky characters but it gets irritating when you can tell how hard they're trying. Season 2 was borderline annoying with the 'quirk.' Just borderline.
