To be fair to Landis, he’s the reason the movie is even coherent. Paramount didn’t want to make a “Beverly Hills Cop” movie. They just wanted Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley. Eddie Murphy didn’t want to do the movie at all and sleptwalked through the whole thing. So both parties just dusted off a “Die Hard in Disneyland” script and hired John Landis to figure out the rest. To his credit, a professional Hollywood movie was made. There’s a 3-act story. There’s action scenes. There’s attempts at humor. The amusement park looks believable and is fully utilized. The man completed his tasks and earned his paycheck. You do that everyday at work.

But the "critics" dismissed this as "doubling down" and "not giving a good enough apology" at which point she deleted her account rather than deal with further bad faith harassment.

This likely has to do with her work with Contrapoints, who was similarly dogpiled over some nonsense.  A lot of the "critics" sound suspiciously like they've been waiting for an excuse to pounce.

That "squint" point weirds me out. Like, is "squint really hard" not a common phrase that doesn't have racial connotations? Have people seriously not heard of it?

I'm reminded of that David Spade show Just Shoot Me. I remember very little about this show other than this one episode where the office was being visited by an Asian executive and he was constantly being offended by the actions of two castmembers. Like the scene that specifically sticks out in my mind is a scene where they are eating ice cream and one of them gets an ice cream headache and presses his palms to his temple groaning while the other guy laughs at him, and the executive walks in and sees him squeezing his temples so hard that it looks like he's making "yellowface."

That seems to be what's happening with Lindsay. She has an ice cream headache and everyone is calling is racism.
