More like Tarantino sank to his level. Uh, what? Tarantino's worst movie would be Rodriguez's best. Tarantino doesn't have shit like Spy Kids 3-D and Sharkboy and Lavagirl on his resume. Tarantino and Rodriguez were totally different filmmakers. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are stylized crime drama's. El Mariachi, Desperado and From Dusk till Dawn are schlocky action movies. Starting with Kill Bill, Tarantino now makes the type of schlock you'd associate with Rodriguez. Just cause there's high production values and A-list actors doesn't change the fact that Tarantino has been making silly movies for the past 15 years. His maturity level went backwards after Jackie Brown. What Tarantino does isn't what I'd call grown up movies. So in essence, he sank to Rodriguez's level because Rodriguez has never made a grown up movie in his entire career. |
