The Star Wars Prequels. The LOTR Prequels. It's the Matrix's turn. So what your saying is, it will be crap compared to the orignial trilogy... But then we'll get The Matrix Awakens and spin off Matrix Stories and they'll be great again. |

I haven't really been the type of movie fan who laments the "unoriginality" of Hollywood and complains about prequels/sequels/remakes/reboots/rewhatevers. I've been of the mind set that if they suck, it doesn't matter cause the first ones were good and they don't get erased.
But things are changing. I'm becoming embittered. I look at the summer release schedule and... the middle movies are being drowned out. Its all Hobbs and Shaw from here on out.

A lot of trepidations about this, especially considering the Wachowskis (or I guess Wachowski in this case) have made one bomb after the other since The Matrix Reloaded and this just feels like the inevitable "Okay, we gave you chances, now give us a new Matrix movie" instead of there being an incredible script.
It'll get my money, but in the same way Terminator: Dark Fate will: arms crossed, cynicism high, wanting it to be great but knowing it'll absolutely suck.

I might be one of the few people on earth who actually have come to love the sequels.
(How I see the sequels today, it’s just my personal opinion or theory haven’t really delved into who might actually see it similarly and agree)
The first Matrix is a different simulation it has no tie to Reloaded and Revolutions.
I think if I remember correctly the sequels are in 7th version.
Think of the first Matrix Movie as Windows 95.
And Matrix sequels as Windows 10... Do you get it.
The machine world keeps trying to find different ways to get rid of Neo virus, they thought they got it right with Agent Smith who can destroy the virus.
Except the anti-virus that is Agent Smith decides to now attack the entire system like the Y2K bug would have back in 2000.
So the machine world was fucked. The only one good enough to stop it was in the end Neo, Neo goes to the machine world I'm your only hope, and they knew it. If Neo didn't save both the worlds butts the Machine world and the Matrix Simulation all break down simultaneously

Has no one discussed theories as to where this story could possibly go? Our two leads were dead by the end of it, after all. Was the last trilogy a simulation within a simulation?
