Awww. Yeah. This album has been on my headphones all day.
Commercial end, yeah. But a return to form and a good celebration of Metallica's career to date. There's hints of the entire span all in there.
They could use a Flemming Rasmussen to trim some of their excesses up, sure. But it's nice to have James, Kirk, and Lars back.
There not the best metal band out there anymore, but when they're good they're better than most.

Interesting track list. I don't really have an issue with the order as is, but fun video. I agree with James that "Atlas, Rise!" is the best track on the album. Fucking awesome shit. The whole album is great though. Listened to it again today at work and I still love it. My favourite Metallica album in decades, since And Justice for All, and maybe even since Puppets. I've dug some of the stuff Metallica has done from the 90s on (and I think Death Magnetic takes a lot of unnecessary shit), but Hardwired felt like coming home. Between it and Judas Priest putting out the excellent "Redeemer of Souls" and I've been in Metal heaven. |

Just had a friend see them with Iron Maiden over the weekend and said they were awesome. I've been really enjoying Ghost as well. Been listening to them while playing Overwatch.

I've heard they've had guest musicians fill in on the band under the masks, without announcing who they were.
I mean the fact that they're on their supposed third pope singer and it's clearly still the same guy is pretty funny.

Plus the singer has recently said it was never meant to be an actual band, more like a solo deal. Makes sense when all the musicians wear mask and go by nameless monks. He does all the music himself then they tour with him.
