So in WW-II America fought the Japanese with a soldier who the Americans didn't want but was a better ninja than any of the Japanese... and this is based on true events? I saw the movie and loved it but found it really far fetched. I know it's true because I did my homework but it's like The Blair Witch Project, is that home work real or Hollywood PR? It's just so crazy that this could actually happen.

The war stuff is pretty good if not a bit over the top but the first half is straight out of a Hallmark Channel movie. I didn't hate it, borderline 5.5 or 6 out of 10.

If I had any real complaints about it, it's that some of the characterization in the first half seemed pretty broad, but once it settled into the boot camp sequence, I found it hit the marks all the way through. The war sequences were harrowing.
