I'm curious how this will do financially. It just seems like such a non-event of a movie. I guess hardcore Potter fans will be there but does anyone else give a shit? I guess time will tell.
Anyway, the trailer isn't exactly bad, but it isn't doing anything to get me interested.

As big a Potter fan as I am and as much as I like the first movie, I do have to agree...financially, I don't think this will a juggernaut. The first one opened with, what, $75 million or so? Way below the average Harry Potter opening. If this one opens bigger than the first, it may not be by much.
That said...I'm still massively excited for this. Each trailer has increased my anticipation level more and more, and the fact that the thrust of this movie looks like a chase thriller of sorts only adds to that.
Too bad that PG Cooper has lost his sense of wonder.  |

I should be more excited for it. Watching adults in the Wizarding World is far more interesting to me and I do love stories such as these. So I do hope it's good. I hope it will be great even, but for whatever reason, I'm not anticipating it by any means.
I will say I'm afraid that one main thing that will undermine these new stories is the fact that if they try to make it bigger and more exciting than the Harry Potter series, it will seem a little odd that it wasn't talked about more. Touched upon, sure, but you would still think it a much bigger topic for conversation in comparison to the events of another, darker wizard coming about.

I still maintain that the franchise spinoff they should be doing is one about The Aurors. They're the people who hunt down and capture Dark Wizards; the potential's right there, guys. Come on. Though like I said before, this movie might be the closest we get to that.
