I like the new style and would be happy if all sabres in the new movies were like that.

I'm actually more so concerned with whether or not Abrams is trying to reinvent the lightsaber entirely. Yes, the cross-guard version is odd, but I'm hoping this is a unique Sith blade entirely, what with it's firey looking effects. I read an article pointing out that if you were wanting to create a lightsaber more "realistically", it would probably look more ablaze, as it does in this trailer. I honestly don't give a crap about the more "realistic" nature of the science behind these blades. These films are also still quite heavy in the fantasy genre. In my opinion, if they were going to make all the lightsabers not have a solid looking beam of light, as they should be in accordance with the previous films, it would be akin to M. Night wanting to change the pronunciation of certain words and names in The Last Airbender, because it was "more accurate". I'm sure it's a Sith thing. Kinda like Darth Maul double blade thing.

That image makes me want to punch the person who made it. Also, someone explain to me really how much a cross-guard would have even helped in these situations: You forgetting one more thing? You haven't watch Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader in the Death Star? Can we watch it?

So, I wonder what rating they are aiming for with TFA. Every Star Wars movie (apart from ROTS) has been PG. However, PG-13 seems to be the new PG for families. Nearly every big-budget "event" movie is PG-13 these days. Disney obviously has no problem with advertising PG-13 to kids (from Marvel to POTC) as these have been BIG money makers for them (and other studios).

www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/390171-george-lucas-hasnt-seen-the-star-wars-the-force-awakens-trailerThe teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens launched ten days ago and has been watched millions of times in that short span, but one person who hasn’t watched it is the creator of the franchise, George Lucas. Speaking with Page Six, Lucas revealed he hasn’t seen the trailer just yet, but he will see the whole movie eventually. “I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet.” When asked why, Lucas replied: “Because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there…..I plan to see it when it’s released.” Lucas was also asked if he was curious to see what director J.J. Abrams has done with the series for it’s seventh chapter, to which he reportedly replied: “Not really.” Though Lucas may not be curious about what Abrams is doing, the rest of the planet clearly is as “The Force Awakens” trailer has brought in over 100 million views in one week. Starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, the J.J. Abrams-directed film will debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Has anyone else seen the George Lucas version of the teaser trailer where they piled in a bunch of special effects? I cringed when I saw that. In the name of all that's holy I hope they don't make that kind of mistake for the final cut of the movie.

I think somebody posted it in this thread at some point. Someone will probably show that version to George and he'll be like, "Looking good, JJ!"

Actually, it was Star Wars III: Revenge of Sith. That's why George Lucas had it right to put on PG-13 movie. Because it was very violence movie.

'The Raid' Actors to Appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens collider.com/star-wars-the-force-awakens-the-raid-actors/The folks over at Twitch report that actors Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruyhian, and Cecep Arif Rahman will appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That’s about as far as the information goes, as we have no confirmation on the nature of their roles or anything, but it’s safe to assume that they’ll be featured in some sort of fighting capacity. Since the Force Awakens cast is already pretty full of known actors, I’d be surprised if any of the aforementioned actors played a major role in the plot, but it’s certainly possible.
