I caught this last night. I've only seen the first two seasons of AHS, and I only caught them once they came to Netflix, but this time around I'm totally going to make time in my schedule to tune in to watch every week. The first episode was pretty good. Lobster Boy's side gig had me rolling.

What's the name of that creepy clown? Everyone is buzzing about him.

So, looks like this show is as crazy as ever. American Horror Story is the worst show that I can't seem to stop watching. Every fiber of my being says that it's a rediculous messy claptrap of a show, yet I still end up absorbing each season. I don't know, there's just nothing quite like it on TV. Most bad shows are bad because they're bland and safe, this one is bad because it has no sense of restraint and does insane things that it could never get away with if it wasn't an anthology. The other good thing about it being an anthology is I can just jump into a season and don't need to worry about catching up with season three on time. The one major red flag is that this season looks like it has an aweful lot in common with season two. Hopefully it doesn't become a retread.

It was a great opening episode. I think this season has more going for it than the last. Lobster Boy was the dumbest thing ever though and I'm not sure about Jessica Lang and Kathy Bates accent as they both slipped in and out of them all the time.My wife hated the Clown, which is a good sign, he was pretty awesome. I'm not sure what he is called but I've already nicknamed him "Stabby the Clown" I think it will be a good season.

I think the clown is supposed to be named "Twisty the Clown"
Any thoughts on the Bowie cover? It looks like anachronistic pop songs are going to be common thing this season.

Interesting first episode, Hoping the rest is creepy and I am sure it will be. I also noticed that Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates lost their accent a few times and it would be really strong in other scenes.

Seemed to me that the accent kept shifting, hard to pin it down to any one thing.

It must be hard trying to maintain something so unnatural. I've heard a number of talented actors flubbing up accents, lol. She isn't the only one.

I'm usually on time with AHS premieres, so I was kind of pissed at myself for missing two whole episodes back to back, lol. But I'm all caught up now and actually liking it so far. Ryan Murphy knows how to bring the unique thrills when he has to, and though most of his seasons end less than perfect, he does know how to start things off with a bang, every time.
This season is insane, but very intriguing, to say the least. It's too early to give a complete list of pros and cons, but so far I love how fucked up and creppy Twisty the Clown is, especially since clowns generally creep me the fuck out, lol. Sarah Paulson has won me over with having the best character yet, and Kathy Bates always impresses me to no end. I didn't care much for the extended song sequence though, in the premiere. I felt too much of a Glee (force a song on you) presence from Murphy. But hopefully that was just a one time thing like in Asylum.
Anyways, I think the season is shaping up rather great so far, and judging by those ratings numbers, I'm not the only one who thinks so.

I love how fucked up and creppy Twisty the Clown is, especially since clowns generally creep me the fuck out, lol. I feel like Twisty might be a little to fucked up. I mean, it works really well when he's in full on serial killer mode but there are parts in the scripts where people treat him like a normal clown, which makes no sense to me given that he immediately looks like an evil deranged hobo that anyone in their right mind would run from with a moment's notice. I didn't care much for the extended song sequence though, in the premiere. I felt too much of a Glee (force a song on you) presence from Murphy. But hopefully that was just a one time thing like in Asylum. Well they already did another one in episode two, so I'm feeling like it could be a semi-regular thing. Might get sick of it after a while, but I kind of liked it. The Bowie song did a good job of establishing what the Jessica Lange character was like as a performer and the Fiona Apple song worked well as a sort of manifestation of the Sarah Paulson character (the one on the left side) was going through internally.

I have to say that in 2014 I'm surprised that 'circusly abled' people aren't causing an uproar over the title "Freakshow".
So far I'm not really liking the musical numbers, but I've always thought musical numbers are unnatural and they make me uncomfortable.

That's..... something.
I stopped watching Freakshow a few weeks in. I missed a week and then couldn't be bothered to go out of my way to get caught up. It was just easier to stop watching and wait until it shows up on Netflix.

Didn't care for the last two seasons. I suppose Freak Show was probably better than the witches. The second season is still the best.
It's a shame. A circus-esque environment seemed a fantastic setting for a horror story. Beyond the short-lived clown, though, it was pretty underwhelming.

One of the actors Ben Woolf just got hit by the rear view mirror of a car and died a few days later
