I saw the Beguiled a long time ago. It's a little different seeing creeper borderline rapist Eastwood. Not quite sure if it's on my shortlist to revisit but I'm curious to see which actor they cast as the soldier.

I saw the Beguiled a long time ago. Starz/Encore used to air it a lot. Borderline? Wasn't he fucking underage girls in that movie? It did take place in a school. Hugh Jackman! |

Now that you mention it the opening scene is him coming onto some girl who's like 12, if I got that right. Well I guess things were different in the 1860s.

Good movie.
Trivia: Elizabeth Hartman, who played Edwina Dabney in the original movie, also starred in one of my favorite Sidney Poitier movies A Patch of Blue (she won a Golden Globe and a Oscar nomination for it).
She was also the voice of Mrs Brisby in The Secret of NIMH - unfortunately, that was her last role. She suffered from depression for quite some time and ended up taking a leap out of her 5th floor apartment in Pittsburgh. She was 43.
(I bet you knew that trivia had to have a bad ending coming from me, huh?)
