That's unfortunate. I had hopes for this one. What about it made you have high hopes? I just like the first Men in Black movie. Plus Chris Hemsworth seemed far less anti-funny in the trailers than he was in Ghostbusters and Thor: Ragnarok. It's misplaced optimism more than anything. I never want a movie to be bad, it just happens. |

F Gary gray and the guys who wrote iron Man has me extra down on this. Thought it could have been good, but with those 3 involved... Pretty sure this will be another meh from Sony. Fucking nailed it. And mib the first one is almost a perfect movie. Would have been seen as the pinnacle in will Smith's career had no sequels been made. There is no real back story in the movie. We worry about k and his lost love. And even that is relegated to like d f e story. It's just about recruiting a killer candidate and then saving the fucking world. Second one has to complicate things giving j a love interest, but they salvage it by making her a princess that he can never have. Boom the stories are still so contained and just shallow enough for a summer blockbuster. Then three comes along and fucking retcons basically everything setting up k being a guardian angel for young j, ruining the story for the perfect first one. And 3 really isn't even that bad but from the context of an mib movie, they couldn't have fucked up the story more. They werent lying, a person is smart. People are dumb. |
